[theme music] this bold and graphickitchen has one-of-a-kind details everywhere you look. the overall color scheme isblack and white, with a monster dose of metallic. the tile floors arewhere it all starts. i really wanted to add a dose ofthe southwest into the kitchen. so i designed this moderntribal pattern for the floor. all that pattern is balancedwith striking dark cabinets,
dark appliances,and darkly-stained floating shelves. i added a huge amount ofcontrast with the island. i wanted to contrast thedark cabinets heavily. so i used a huge pieceof light-colored quartz. i added a bit of lux by addinga waterfall detail on the sides. overhead, automaticskylights help to lighten it up with tons of natural light. as for the metallicsin this room,
i really went withsome serious bling. the copper backsplashis installed from base to ceiling on the stove wall. the hardware, donein the same finish, looks like edgy jewelry. and the copper andmetal lights that i custom designed over theisland look like sculpture. there's even a metallicdetail on the barstools. i really love usingfurniture in kitchens.
that small detail reallycan warm up any workspace. that's why i added thistriple-stack bookcase with a weathered look,to make this kitchen look homey and add tons of storage. as for the smart details,there are plenty. such as the suite ofstate-of-the-art appliances and under-mount systemsthat take kitchen efficiencies to the next level. this kitchen is ultramodernin design and technology.
